Since 2007, José Beirão is developing his PhD - A generative model for Urban Design - which is integrated in the City Induction research project.

The City Induction research project is supported by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), Portugal, hosted by ICIST at the Technical University of Lisbon (PTDC/AUR/64384/2006) and coordinated by José Pinto Duarte. Gil, Beirão and Montenegro are responsible for the evaluation, generation and formulation module, respectively. J.N. Beirão is funded by FCT with grant SFRH/BD/39034/2007.
